Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

International students studying in Australia, along with their dependents (such as spouses and children under 18), are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). The Department of Home Affairs mandates that international students maintain OSHC for the entire duration of their stay in Australia. For more information, please visit the Department of Home Affairs website.

OSHC typically provides coverage for doctor visits, certain hospital treatments, ambulance services, and some prescription medications. There are various OSHC plans available, ranging from basic coverage that meets the minimum required services to more comprehensive plans that offer additional benefits beyond the minimum, as specified by the policy. To find out more about OSHC and to view a list of providers, visit www.privatehealth.gov.au.
